Natural Hair Journey
Hey guys long time no talk

Sorry I’ve been busy as usual with my major. I got a confusing email from….myself? I have no idea if my tumblr has been hacked or not but I am personally not PMing people. I don’t know what’s going on but please ignore any private messages that may seem like they’re coming from me…Because they’re not.

Yesterday, I bought a hair stick and did a deep conditioning. If you remember last time, I did a deep conditioning and then wrapped my hair in two buns. This time, I tried it with my hair stick to look a little more fancy. I think It’s a pretty nice hairstyle and my hair has bouncy curls when I take it out. I’m leaving London today so I don’t think I’m able to wear a hair stick on the plane but I thought I’d test it out before I go to the airport. What do you think?

Hair is holding up pretty well so far today. I think I’ll bun my hair at night more often.

Right before bed, I twirled my hair into two tight buns, one on top of the other, while my hair was still a little damp. When I woke up and undid the buns, my hair had soft curls and a lot of volume. My hair usually comes out pretty cool when I go to bed with buns but I wasn’t expecting this haha.

I’m in London for another week so I’m sort of limited on hair mask ingredients. I decided to treat myself with an hour long treatment. I mixed my conditioner, olive oil, honey, and mayo. Seriously, mayo is the best ingredient for deep conditioning. You don’t smell it once it’s rinsed out. My hair is still wet but it feels soft already. I haven’t had a cut in about 3 months. My ends are looking pretty good so I think I’ll wait another month or so before I get my next one.

The place I’m interning at is obsessed with Game of Thrones and does GD work for them so I figured it was an interesting idea to go in tomorrow with a GoT- esque hair style. I put my hair in double dutch braids for the night to wake up with a wavy base. BTW, I’m able to braid like this without a mirror now.

Game of Thrones

So I’ve finally started getting into Game of Thrones and fell in love with Daenerys Targaryen’s hair. Of course I wouldn’t dye my hair her color since it’s too damaging and probably would look weird on me, but I love the braids she has. I’m considering trying out some of her hair styles.

Hey Jen! I've been doing a lot of research on repairing and growing damaged hair lately, your blog is really inspiring... thanks for sharing all of these great tips! I am curious how long ago you actually started this journey? I don't see actual dates, I only see "1 year ago". Is this accurate? If so, that is absolutely amazing to see how far your hair has come in just one year! Keep it up! :)

I’m glad to see it’s helping! I started October 2010. Time really flies. It’s gotten pretty long so far but I’m not up to my goal yet.

Hm... usually the products I use help me with frizz. I use Shea butter and coconut oil. I just cut off my head damaged ends so I have about 3-4 inches of hair? No where near as long as yours haha

I snuck in the kitchen and used olive oil when no one was looking just now haha.

I can’t BELIEVE how long your hair has gotten btw!! is it waist length already?!

I know right? Not quite there yet but almost. My last haircut set me back a bit by like an inch or so but it’s summer so my hair should grow fast.

Hey Jen. I like the pictures you just put up. Your hair looks fabulous and you are so beautiful <3

Thank you! It’s a bit frizzy here, but I’m guessing it might be from the water in London or the slight humidity. I have to figure out what professional hairstyles I can pull off for my internship. Any ideas?
